Thomas Middleditch is the lead nerd on HBO's Silicon Valley, and I also discovered tonight that he's also a leading nerd in real life. Right now the inventor of the fictional app Pied Piper is laying siege to his enemies with hordes of Nordic warriors in Total War: Atilla. I haven't figured out yet if Middleditch is in character, but it's one of the best Twitch streams I've watched all day.
