One in five people are now on Facebook

As well as announcing rising profits, in its latest earnings call Facebook revealed that it's still attracting new users and that membership has jumped another 13% year on year to a remarkable 1.39 billion monthly users. According to the United Nations' and the United States Census Bureau's calculations, there are currently 7 billion people on the planet.
