New York City makes an astounding amount of money from issuing parking tickets: nearly $600 million per year. However, that number could be even higher, were it not for truant scofflaws. Many tickets go unpaid, thanks to NYC's unintuitive, difficult online payment system. The city hopes to improve that by offering digital payment options, including Apple Pay and Bitcoin.
