Renesas talking with foreign firms about sale of mobile phone chip unit

Renesas Electronics Corp's chips are pictured at the company's office in Tokyo TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Renesas Electronics Corp is in talks with foreign companies about selling the mobile phone chip business it bought from Nokia Oyj three years ago, the company's new president said. "It is one of the options we are looking at," Tetsuya Tsurumaru, the Japanese chipmaker's latest boss told reporters in Tokyo on Thursday. Tsurumaru took over as president on Feb 22. "Overseas is our main focus," Tsurumaru said, without identifying the firms his company was speaking to. ...
